Dear friends of the Milwaukee North Stake,

In the summer of 2023, we began holding monthly stake baptismal services for nearly all of our friends who were joining the Church. Over the past two years, these gatherings have been sacred occasions where we’ve shared powerful spiritual experiences. Many dear friends have entered the waters of baptism, and we clearly see that the Lord’s work of gathering His children is hastening. Many of these new members continue to progress toward the temple and eternal covenants.

While these stake-level services have brought great blessings, we’ve also encountered some logistical challenges with travel and scheduling. After prayerful consideration, we feel it is now time to return to holding convert baptismal services at the ward or branch level, effective immediately.

This transition will:

Allow greater scheduling flexibility,

Reduce travel time and transportation challenges,

Increase the opportunity for members of each unit to participate and rejoice in these sacred events.

We are confident that this adjustment will continue to bless individuals and families throughout the stake. Your efforts to love, share, and invite others to learn about our faith are meaningful.  Every effort to do good and to serve those around us is noticed by the Lord and meaningful in the lives of those we love.  The Lord magnifies these efforts in miraculous ways.

As President Nelson recently said: "Brothers and sisters, we need to grow increasingly pure. Our thoughts, words, and actions need to be unfailingly virtuous and filled with the pure love of Jesus Christ towards all men. The great opportunity before us is to become the people God needs us to be."

Working side by side with our friends and neighbors in our community is a great way to find opportunities to Love, Share and Invite.

Teachings of President Russell M. Nelson

Tuesdays 10-11:30 a.m.

This class will be held every Tuesday morning from January 28th to April 22nd from 10am to 11:30am. Email Sister Katrina Olson at knkids11@gmail.com to be added to the class email list.

I am excited to continue our study of President Nelson's teachings in our New Year! As we have celebrated our Savior's birth, I look forward to preparing for the celebration of His glorious resurrection! I hope we can identify the promptings He gives us to prepare ourselves and our families for this supernal event. It may feel cold and dark, but Easter is coming!

We will begin our study on January 28th and conclude on April 22nd, just after Easter. We will not have class on March 25 for Spring Break.

I invite you to study these resources to discover what the Lord is teaching us through His chosen prophet. I am excited to learn from the promptings you receive and share!
